Chapter 10: What’s Going On Here
***
After confirming he had landed safely, Liu Haoyu sprang up from the ground like a carp leaping from water.
He had no time to think about what that pushing force was just now, the immediate priority was to confirm if the fierce ghost had caught up.
Perhaps because the Thunder Talisman had hit its target, after the fierce ghost grabbed the motorcycle’s tire and made him fall, it hurriedly fled.
“Phew… that was close.”
Liu Haoyu wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.
He considered himself thick-skinned and brave-hearted, but even that scene just now was truly dangerous enough.
If he had crashed down hard, he would have been either dead or severely injured.
Even as an athlete, one couldn’t withstand the inertia at 70 kilometers per hour.
After confirming the fierce ghost hadn’t caught up, Liu Haoyu walked to the motorcycle that had crashed by the roadside.
After careful inspection, he reached a conclusion.
With the broken front and dented body like this, without major repairs, this motorcycle definitely wouldn’t be running anytime soon.
But the problem was that he was still in the middle of nowhere, which was quite troublesome.
However, fortunately, this place wasn’t far from where the accident happened last night.
The fierce ghost must still be nearby, just unknown whether it was still following behind.
“Headache.”
Plans can’t keep up with changes. Originally, Liu Haoyu thought he would encounter the fierce ghost when he reached the accident site, but unexpectedly, he met it on the way there.
But even so, the original plan remained unchanged. Liu Haoyu decided to proceed on foot to investigate the accident site thoroughly.
However, speaking of which…
What exactly was that strange pushing force just now?
While walking, Liu Haoyu recalled what had just happened.
That pushing force was strange, it felt as if his body had been grabbed by a pair of hands.
When he was about to hit the ground, this pulling force suddenly disappeared, which is why his knees were scraped.
But regardless, this strange force had indeed saved his life.
This situation was most likely a supernatural event, but the question was who had helped him?
Liu Haoyu stopped in his tracks, observing his surroundings. The spirit candle in his hand hadn’t lit up, which meant there were no impure things around him.
So what exactly was going on?
Liu Haoyu couldn’t figure it out. With no ghosts around him, this could only be attributed to Old Deng having placed some kind of life-saving measure on him.
This was also why Liu Haoyu greatly respected that Old Deng.
That old man truly had some real abilities.
——————
“Damn it, why isn’t this guy sleeping at night, and why did he come to such a remote place?”
Qin Liu, inside the red jade, was full of questions.
It was precisely because she was hiding in the red jade that Liu Haoyu’s spirit candle couldn’t detect her.
“Racing a motorcycle at night without watching the road. If I hadn’t helped, this reckless guy would have ended up like me when I died, needing to be scooped up with a broom and shovel.”
Qin Liu talked to herself. In fact, after being alone for a long time, one would indeed develop such a habit of talking to oneself.
However, besides being angry, Qin Liu was also a bit excited.
She discovered that she could leave that haunted house.
Could it be because she entered the red jade and this man carried her out?
Just thinking about being able to see the outside world made Qin Liu’s heart flutter with excitement.
But when she looked at this remote area in the dead of night, her expectant gaze inevitably turned into a dead fish stare.
“Well, there’s nothing to see at this hour anyway, so why isn’t he sleeping and why did he come out? Is he here to dump a body? Or going night fishing to catch nothing?”
Qin Liu couldn’t understand, and naturally didn’t know that Liu Haoyu was here to catch the fierce ghost.
And because she only woke up when the motorcycle was stuck and Liu Haoyu was thrown off, Qin Liu also didn’t know that Liu Haoyu had crashed because he encountered a ghost.
From Qin Liu’s current perspective, Liu Haoyu had been looking behind him just now, so he must have hit something and gotten thrown off.
“So where is this place…”
Qin Liu tried walking outside the red jade, and she discovered that although she could leave the red jade, she seemed to only be able to go less than 1 kilometer away. When she went further, her vision would become blurry, and she would even feel a bit faint.
To avoid any issues, after testing this, Qin Liu returned to the red jade.
Of course, this absolutely wasn’t because she was afraid of being alone in this remote area.
Through the red jade, Qin Liu could see the spirit candle in this man’s hand light up, after which he took out a flashlight and slowly climbed down to the bottom of a hill where there was a broken guardrail.
“What exactly is this guy trying to do? Being all secretive like this, he’s not planning something big, is he?”
At this moment, headlines like “Serial Killer, Midnight Body Disposal” were already appearing in Qin Liu’s mind.
After all, from Qin Liu’s perspective, this man who feared neither death nor ghosts must have dealt with dead people before.
And among legitimate professions that deal with the dead, besides police officers, there were doctors and mortuary staff.
But looking at this man, he didn’t seem like any of these three professions.
So Qin Liu kept observing his every move. If this person really was some perverted serial killer, she wouldn’t mind doing one more good deed.
However, Qin Liu’s speculations were destined to fall through, as this man didn’t go to any burial site, but instead found a severely deformed van at the bottom of the hill.
The van was full of bloodstains, showing that after the accident, the people inside must have either died or been severely injured.
Qin Liu carefully observed the interior of the van through the red jade.
There were very obvious signs of struggle inside the van, especially the seatbelt, which looked as if something had violently tried to tear it apart.
This didn’t look like self-rescue after a car accident at all, but more like encountering something terrifying before the accident and desperately trying to break free from the seatbelt.
But they couldn’t break free, to the point where their fingernails broke on the seatbelt, yet they still couldn’t unbuckle it.
And what was more horrifying was that there was too much blood in this van…
It was as if it had been deliberately splashed around, covering the entire cabin.
Such an eerie scene made Qin Liu secretly swallow her saliva.
She was a ghost, true, but she still retained human consciousness. What’s wrong with being a little scared of the unknown?
But thinking carefully, Qin Liu became relieved again.
“What am I thinking, I’m already a ghost now, what ghost should I be afraid of?”
After thinking optimistically, Qin Liu once again focused her gaze on the car window.
But at this moment, a bloody handprint suddenly appeared on the car window, as if something was clinging to the window.
Soon a second handprint appeared, and this handprint left a long bloody streak on the window.
By now, Qin Liu’s little face had turned pale with fear.
Just as she was about to look away, a bloody face suddenly pressed against the window.
Looking carefully, this face somewhat resembled Old Wang’s face.
Qin Liu, inside the red jade, suppressed the fear in her heart.
She now only wanted to figure out one thing.
Where the hell had this guy taken her?
