Chapter 9: I’m Going In
***
Qin Liu emerged from the red jade, feeling puzzled.
“What just happened?”
Due to her lack of preparation earlier, she was directly absorbed into the red jade, but now that she was prepared, the suction force wasn’t enough to pull her in.
Unless Qin Liu willingly gave up resistance.
But this fierce ghost lady seemed to have discovered something fun to play with.
“Oh my! This is quite interesting.”
Qin Liu’s playful nature emerged, and she let herself be sucked into the red jade.
“Hey~ I’m in!”
Then she jumped out of it.
“I’m out again!”
Perhaps due to being confined in the haunted house for so long, or maybe because she had been a female ghost for too long, Qin Liu now appeared somewhat childlike.
She darted in and out of these red jade pieces until she had her fill of fun, then said contentedly.
“What exactly is this thing that’s so fun?”
Unfortunately, her words couldn’t be heard by Liu Haoyu.
So, unable to get an answer, Qin Liu could only continue watching Liu Haoyu and said.
“How about giving me one of these?”
The sleeping Liu Haoyu naturally couldn’t hear Qin Liu’s voice, but she didn’t care and continued talking to herself.
“If you don’t say anything, I’ll take it as a yes? I’ll give you 3 seconds.”
“3… 2… 1, thank you, kind sir whose life I don’t know about.”
After speaking, Qin Liu dove into the red jade.
Lying inside the red jade was much more comfortable than floating in the air.
Qin Liu lay in the red jade with her legs crossed, saying leisurely.
“Perfect, this feeling is like soaking in a hot spring, perfect~”
Ghosts naturally don’t need to sleep.
But Qin Liu retained her habits from when she was alive, so she could sort of sleep.
And so, this fierce ghost lady closed her eyes contentedly inside the red jade that Liu Haoyu used to seal ghosts.
————————
When Liu Haoyu woke up, he looked at the sky outside, it was already 9 PM.
He had slept for over 7 hours, which left him energized enough to not feel drowsy for the night.
Liu Haoyu stuffed the 3 red jade pieces into his pocket, but he noticed something.
For some reason, one of the red jade pieces felt somewhat heavier.
“Strange.”
Holding this red jade in his hand, Liu Haoyu examined its interior.
“There’s nothing there.”
Though there was nothing visible, clearly this red jade’s condition meant it could no longer be used to seal ghosts.
“Could it be damaged because the grievance energy here is too strong?”
Liu Haoyu pondered for a while and thought this possibility was most likely.
Fortunately, even with one damaged, he still had 2 red jade pieces.
It should be enough to deal with the fierce ghost that harmed Old Wang.
Thinking this, Liu Haoyu walked out of the haunted house.
In the courtyard of the haunted house sat a black motorcycle, which was Liu Haoyu’s transportation for catching ghosts at night.
After all, not every haunted place could be reached by taxi or bus.
Since Liu Haoyu couldn’t afford a car, he could only use a motorcycle to get around.
After putting on his gear and confirming he had everything, Liu Haoyu gently twisted the throttle.
The powerful motorcycle launched onto the road with a quick start.
There weren’t many cars on this road at night, and Liu Haoyu’s motorcycle traveled lonely on the road.
The howling wind passed by his ears, and the night temperature was unusually low. If Liu Haoyu hadn’t worn several layers of clothes when he left, he would definitely be shivering from the cold now.
The road was pitch black on both sides, and being far from populated areas, everything around became so eerie.
Along both sides of the road were many small hills, and atop the hills were graves upon graves.
Their shadows looked like a group of people on the hillside, closely watching Liu Haoyu’s every move.
No matter where Liu Haoyu rode to, they kept watching without pause.
Even after he rode far away, those shadows seemed like human hands waving goodbye to Liu Haoyu.
Finally, under this eerie and bizarre atmosphere, Liu Haoyu was approaching the place where the accident happened last night.
However, at this moment, from somewhere unknown, a woman wearing a burial robe darted out.
This woman rushed to the roadside and waved at Liu Haoyu.
Even Liu Haoyu hadn’t expected an unclean thing to suddenly appear, but he didn’t hit the brakes.
He knew that in such a remote place, how could there possibly be living people appearing?
Last night, Old Wang very likely thought that fierce ghost was a roadside passenger wanting a ride, so he stopped and let the ghost into his car.
As a result, it turned into a tragedy.
So Liu Haoyu chose to ignore it completely, tightening the throttle and accelerating past this woman in white clothes.
However, shortly after Liu Haoyu left, he suddenly felt his motorcycle’s speed decrease.
The load on the bike had become heavier.
At this moment, cold sweat broke out on Liu Haoyu’s back, and all his body hair stood on end.
This meant…
Something had sat on the back of his bike.
Liu Haoyu took out his talisman paper and suddenly turned around.
Sure enough, the woman ghost in white who should have been by the roadside waving at Liu Haoyu was now behind him.
The distance between person and ghost was less than 30 centimeters.
At such close range, Liu Haoyu could even see that under her messy hair was a face full of festering sores and maggots, her eyes were bulging, and the left eyeball was gradually sliding out of its socket, connected only by a strand of flesh.
The female ghost’s hand slowly reached out, trying to grab Liu Haoyu’s face, as if wanting to gouge out his eyes too.
Faced with this horrifying sight, Liu Haoyu’s scalp tingled, but he didn’t panic, instead launching the talisman paper he had prepared.
“Thunder Talisman!”
“Ah!!!”
According to common sense, one shouldn’t be able to move when targeted by a fierce ghost, so it hadn’t expected Liu Haoyu to have a counter-attack method, and was immediately hit full force.
But if fierce ghosts could be killed so easily, there wouldn’t be so many people dying because of fierce ghosts in this world.
So even though caught off guard by Liu Haoyu’s attack, this fierce ghost grabbed the motorcycle’s tire as it was blown away.
Such an urgent deceleration caused the motorcycle to immediately lose balance and crash towards the ground.
“What the?!”
Due to inertia, Liu Haoyu was immediately thrown off at 70 kilometers per hour.
Just as he was about to meet a fate of both vehicle and person being destroyed, a strange pushing force dissipated all the inertia from Liu Haoyu’s body.
Thanks to this strange pushing force, when Liu Haoyu hit the ground, he only suffered minor injuries.
