I Am Afraid of Losing My Persona Every Day - Chapter 40
You Jinyuan slept deeply until noon, exhausted from the previous night’s exertions. The intense sunlight streaming in gradually woke her, and she found herself cocooned in a soft, cool blanket. As she stretched languidly and turned over, her arm pressed against something warm and unfamiliar, accompanied by a low groan. She started, blinking awake to find Zhiyu beside her.
Memories of the night before came rushing back…
A sense of regret slowly washed over her. The commotion stirred Zhiyu, who instinctively wrapped an arm around You Jinyuan. Realizing she was n#ked, You Jinyuan felt the thin fabric of Zhiyu’s sleep dress against her, offering little barrier to the warmth beneath.
“Jinyuan…” Zhiyu’s voice, husky with sleep, sent a shiver down You Jinyuan’s spine. She hastily sat up, looking for her clothes.
Zhiyu rubbed her eyes, propping herself up groggily. “When are you leaving?” she asked, as You Jinyuan gathered her sleep dress and und❤rwear, planning to change once back in her room.
“I have a train ticket this afternoon. I need to return to M City to spend some time with my family.”
You Jinyuan had initially planned to stay longer in R City, but the morning’s events had dampened her mood. “I’m leaving this afternoon too,” she said.
“By high-speed train?” Zhiyu’s eyes brightened, her neckline shifting to reveal a glimpse of snow-white cl❤avage. You Jinyuan averted her gaze. “No, I’ll arrange a private car back.”
“Oh…” Zhiyu’s voice betrayed her disappointment.
Watching You Jinyuan dress, Zhiyu noticed how the thin summer nightgown did little to conceal her figure, especially without undergarments. Suddenly energized, she threw off the covers and got out of bed, pulling on a jacket. “Let me help you fetch your clothes,” she said, taking the room key from You Jinyuan’s hand.
Unsure of You Jinyuan’s preferences, Zhiyu brought back an entire suitcase. Having shared intimacies multiple times, You Jinyuan felt no reservations about undr❤ssing again, selecting a fresh outfit. “I’ll use the bathroom now,” she announced.
Zhiyu gestured for her to go ahead.
Under the warm spray of the shower, You Jinyuan found her thoughts racing—a common occurrence during her showers. Was last night just a one-night stand between herself and Zhiyu? As adults, certain things were understood.
Zhiyu had been intimate with her twice already; this third time likely held similar intentions… Neither had mentioned anything upon waking… Their initial encounter had been spontaneous from the start.
It could very well be their last meeting.
You Jinyuan gazed at her reflection in the foggy mirror, her expression wistful. She wondered if there would ever be a reason to see each other again.
While she grappled with her emotions, Zhiyu seemed content, wearing a smile since waking up. “Are you leaving now, Big Sis?” she asked, as You Jinyuan packed her belongings.
You Jinyuan nodded, now fully dressed. Zhiyu nestled back into bed; her afternoon train was still hours away. She had planned to invite You Jinyuan for lunch, not expecting such a swift farewell. A hint of reluctance showed on her face, but she didn’t try to stop her. “Stay safe, and remember to buy some bread for the journey,” she said.
After all, they both lived in City S; there would be plenty more opportunities to meet, Zhiyu thought, still glowing from the previous night’s bliss.
“Mm-hmm, see you next time, Zhiyu.”
You Jinyuan’s voice remained gentle, and hearing ‘see you next time’ brought a smile to Zhiyu’s lips. “See you then.”
