The Fake Daughter Want to Be Villainess - Chapter 26
The preview was not long.
It began with a wide shot, capturing the expressions of all the guests when they first met their partners —
Lin Hui’s indifference, Wang Siyuan’s surprise, Ren Lishu and Qiao Xian’s nonchalance, Yu Zhen’s anticipation, Qu Mei’s restraint, Pei Wang’s helplessness, and Jiang Shu’s shock.
Then there was a brief black screen, followed by the director’s exasperated voice: “So you all want to provoke the dignity of the show, huh!”
As soon as he finished speaking, a new scene appeared. Pei Wang was standing in the Small Fishing Village, raising his hand to offer a bill to Jiang Shu: “It seems we have found a loophole in the Program Team.”
Then the scene shifted to Ren Lishu and Qiao Xian together in the guard room. Qiao Xian furrowed his brow and said, “Although the Program Team only provided one bed, they didn’t specify that we have to sleep together.”
Next, the screen went dark again, and the director’s roar erupted: “Where are Qu Mei and Yu Zhen? Where did they go?”
When the screen lit up again, it showed an empty tent, followed by Qu Mei’s cold voice: “I withdraw from the filming.”
Immediately after, Yu Zhen’s angry figure came into view, and she also declared: “I won’t record anymore.”
The screen froze for a moment, then previous scenes flashed by in a montage, with the Program Team creating a photo frame effect. The title of the variety show appeared at the cracked opening —
“Let’s Reconcile.”
Jiang Shu exclaimed, “Wow, the editing looks pretty good.”
She paused the video, then restarted it, clicking into the comments section below.

@Will Sleep Early Tomorrow: Why didn’t Lin Hui and Wang Siyuan get individual shots? Why didn’t Lin Hui and Wang Siyuan get individual shots? Program Team, give us an explanation!!!!!!!
A few days ago, the comments were normal, but now almost all of them are fans arguing with each other. Jiang Shu grabbed her phone back into her palms: “And this is just a preview.”
It’s already such a bloody storm.
She hugged her phone and took a glance at her Weibo homepage. Before the recording of the show, she was just an ordinary person with almost no followers on Weibo. Now, less than half an hour after the preview was released, she had already gained over a hundred thousand followers.
Jiang Shu happily clicked on her Weibo homepage, and then she suddenly seemed to remember something. She turned to Pei Wang and asked, “Haven’t you followed me on Weibo?”
She extended her phone towards him and looked up at Pei Wang: “We should follow each other, right?”
In her mind, she heard a “ding,” followed closely by Pei Wang’s voice: “Sorry.”
He pushed the phone back to her.
Jiang Shu was momentarily stunned. She hadn’t expected Pei Wang to refuse this suggestion, and her eyes widened as she stared at him.
Pei Wang gently placed a freshly peeled Satsuma Mandarin on Jiang Shu’s fingertips: “I don’t have a Weibo account.”
He explained softly: “Only an official account managed by the public relations department.”
Jiang Shu tilted her head to look at him.
She took the Satsuma Mandarin and divided it in half, giving one half to Pei Wang.
Jiang Shu felt a bit puzzled: “Did the Program Team not mention your Weibo account when announcing the recording guests?”
She then heard another “ding” —
“The Vicious Supporting Female Character questions the host’s honesty; please provide evidence to refute her and slap the Vicious Supporting Female Character in the face!”
Jiang Shu halted her scrolling of the Program Team’s official announcement on Weibo.
If she found the Program Team’s official post proving that Pei Wang wasn’t lying, does that count as her slapping the Vicious Supporting Female Character in the face?
Jiang Shu was uncertain, so she tucked her phone into her chest and tilted her head, waiting for Pei Wang’s response: “Brother?”
Pei Wang replied, explaining: “I don’t want to be followed, so I only had the Program Team write my name.”
He nudged his phone towards her, lowering his head to ask: “Do you want to check it?”
Checking his phone felt too strange. Jiang Shu took a bite of the Satsuma Mandarin she was holding, shook her head, and cleverly said, “I trust you.”
She tilted her head, glancing at the half Satsuma Mandarin left in Pei Wang’s palm, then blinked and looked up at him: “Aren’t you going to eat?”
Pei Wang placed the half orange back into Jiang Shu’s palm: “For you.”
His phone rang, and Pei Wang glanced at the caller ID before apologetically picking up the phone, his eyelashes lifting slightly as his gaze lightly met Jiang Shu’s: “I have a bit of work to handle.”
As if seeking her permission.
Jiang Shu blinked her lashes, quickly discarding this strange thought, and raised her hand to point to the side: “That’s my little study over there; you can use it.”
Pei Wang left the living room, and Jiang Shu took her phone out of her pocket again. Just as she was about to keep watching the preview, she noticed a message notification in her Weibo account.
Curiosity piqued, she clicked on it.
[@Will Sleep Early Tomorrow: Who’s this gold owner she’s relying on? Debuting with such top-tier resources and even pushing aside the senior’s screen time. Isn’t it tiring on the gold owner’s bed? Ugh! Disgusting and unpresentable!]
Jiang Shu bit her lip.
After hesitating for a moment, she clicked on the profile of the person who sent the message and blocked her.
She consoled herself internally that being misunderstood is just a part of being human, and not feeling anger is a self-cultivation of a female celebrity—
But what kind of cultivation? She’s not a Buddhist; she’s just angry.
Jiang Shu stood up from the sofa, clutching her phone, and stomped down the stairs, trotting to the study on the second floor. She raised her hand and knocked on the door: “Dad!”
Father Jiang came over to open the door for her.He and Mother Jiang were in the study, the projector screen was on, but it only displayed a pause button, evidently indicating that something was playing earlier.
Father Jiang turned slightly to let her in and asked somewhat sheepishly, “What’s wrong, Shu Shu?”
Jiang Shu handed her phone to Father Jiang, showing him the private message: “He insulted me.”
Jiang Tingyuan glanced at the content on the screen and frowned.
He gently patted Jiang Shu’s head and reassured her, “I’ll have the company’s Legal Department file a lawsuit against her.”
The Legal Department was primarily composed of industry elites; suing over such minor cases was like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Father Jiang pondered for a moment, saying, “If you want to be an actress, you might have to deal with situations like this from time to time.”
There would always be rivalries, defamation, and mudslinging. The Entertainment Industry could both promote a newcomer and destroy someone’s reputation with rumors.
Since Jiang Shu entered the drama department, he had been developing the Jiang family’s own entertainment company, preparing it to safeguard her after her graduation.
Although the company had just recently been established, it was equipped with the necessary configurations. Father Jiang asked, “I have a dedicated artist team; do you want to use them?”
He eagerly pitched, “You can let them manage your Weibo account, and then you won’t have to see these private messages anymore. They will also handle your public relations, maintain your image, and help you connect with and screen resources—”
Father Jiang asked again, “Do you want it, Shu Zai?”
Jiang Shu felt that Father Jiang was asking some very silly questions.
She gave him a puzzled look and replied with a smile, “Of course I do!”
Jiang Shu hugged Father Jiang’s arm: “Thank you, Dad.”
She took out her phone, excitedly shaking it as she said, “Dad, can you give me the WeChat contact of the team leader?”
Father Jiang walked to his desk, picked up his phone, and pressed the side button to wake it up.
Then the paused projector screen suddenly displayed an image, and sounds filled the study: “Anyway, I won’t go ask those uncles again, you go by yourself!”
Jiang Shu: “?”
Jiang Shu quickly raised her head, looking at the projector screen.
Father Jiang had urgently paused the video, but Jiang Shu still caught a glimpse of the image.
She stepped forward two paces: “Dad.”
Jiang Shu incredulously asked, “What were you and Mom watching in the study?”
The author has something to say:
