The Fake Daughter Want to Be Villainess - Chapter 28
Jiang Shu tilted her head.
She and Pei Wang had a super topic? And what was there to discuss about sibling love?
She suspiciously opened Weibo, searched for this super topic, and clicked in.
[Pinned][Must-See] Those who come here must be sisters. Although everyone understands, we still need to emphasize three points—
Pure sibling love leads to the next door.
Feel free to produce and consume content, but no stepping on the next door.
Keep your tail tucked! No making a show in front of the main audience! No making a show in front of the main audience! No making a show in front of the main audience!
If pure sibling love leads to the next door, then what is this place?
Imperfect sibling love?
Confused, Jiang Shu scrolled down a bit.
[Text][Parallel World] Seventeen years ago, they fell in love. He went abroad for reasons undisclosed and was never heard from again. Seventeen years later, when they meet again, she faces him coldly while he showers her with affection…
Jiang Shu: “?”
She was only two years old seventeen years ago.
Jiang Shu hesitated and stopped scrolling.
She sensed something unusual in the air, thought for a moment, and then left the super topic in defeat.
It wasn’t that she was afraid of seeing something strange again.
Jiang Shu calmly considered that it was more about artists needing to keep a distance from their fans’ lives.
With that distraction, Jiang Shu no longer wanted to watch the variety show. She opened Weibo and clicked back into the trending topics.
The few trending entries were easy to understand just from their titles. Jiang Shu thought for a moment and clicked on the one about Qiao Xian.
@Tomorrow Must Work Hard: Wuu wuu wuu, Qiao Xian has a bad back and still chose to sleep on the floor; he must still love her. [Video]
The video was a clip from the variety show, where Ren Lishu stood in the guard room, frowning as she looked at the only little bed available.
The bed was one meter wide, pressed against the wall, meaning that if two people tried to sleep together, they would have to be tightly pressed against each other, unable to turn.
She clearly did not want to squeeze in with Qiao Xian. After circling the room once, she opened the cupboard, took out a blanket, and spread it on the floor. Looking up, she said, “I don’t want to squeeze together, so I’ll sleep—”
Qiao Xian quickly interrupted her, glaring at her and saying, “Are you saying that I have no gentlemanly demeanor at all?”
“A lady shouldn’t sleep on the floor.” He threw a pillow onto the makeshift bed and then sat down on it, declaring, “I’ll sleep!”
Jiang Shu was momentarily confused.
Was this supposed to be the proof that he still loved her?
She scrolled through the comment section, then checked the entire trending list. As she wondered whether to continue watching that variety show, she heard a notification sound from her phone; it was a new announcement from the Program Team.
The Program Team sent over the new recording location and assembly time.
This time, the recording location was in Qing City, and the gathering time remained at eight in the morning. However, Qing City was quite a distance from Jing City, so she certainly needed to go over the night before.
Jiang Shu tilted her head in thought, then left the floor of the foundation and took the elevator to the CEO’s office, knocking before entering.
Father Jiang was holding his phone and seemed to be chatting with someone.
Jiang Shu called out, “Dad.”
Hearing Jiang Shu’s voice, Father Jiang paused for a moment, nearly hiding his phone away like he was caught doing something wrong, then cleared his throat and said, “Shushu.”
Father Jiang asked with concern, “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Shu suspiciously glanced at Father Jiang’s phone, then withdrew her gaze and walked up to him. She showed him the newly received information and reported her schedule, saying, “I’ll be leaving the night before.”
Father Jiang looked unperturbed: “I’ll have the Secretary book your tickets.”
He took his phone and started typing.
Jiang Shu nodded, took a seat on the sofa, and propped her chin up: “Let me know once you’ve bought them.”
She fiddled with her phone and then remembered something, hesitating as she asked, “I remember Qing City is a tourist city. There should be a lot of people on weekends, right? Do I need to book a hotel in advance?”
Just as she finished speaking, Father Jiang suddenly raised his head, urgently saying, “No need!”
Jiang Shu blinked, bewildered: “Huh?”
Father Jiang realized his reaction was too extreme. He leaned back in his chair, trying to make up for it by adding, “No need to book a hotel; our family has a house over there.”
He glanced at his phone again, then sat up straight and looked at Jiang Shu: “The Secretary has booked your tickets, Shushu—”
Jiang Shu felt a bit flustered under his gaze, and she cautiously moved back a little, looking at Jiang Tingyuan: “Dad, what’s wrong?”
Father Jiang revealed a gentle smile: “It’s your first time traveling alone, and I’m a bit worried, so I sent a Secretary to accompany you.”
He hesitated a bit, saying carefully, “You don’t mind, right?”
Jiang Shu felt she didn’t need the Secretary, but seeing Father Jiang’s expression, she didn’t refuse and nodded, “That’s fine; I don’t mind.”
She turned her head to look at Father Jiang: “When will she come to pick me up?”
Father Jiang coughed again: “Tomorrow, at the airport entrance.”
Jiang Shu initially did not realize anything was amiss.
She even happily spent another day at the headquarters of the Foundation, returned home for dinner, and then had the driver take her to the airport.
Sitting in the back seat, looking at the flight information Father Jiang had sent her, she finally sensed something unusual.Father Jiang arranged for the Secretary to accompany her, but he still hadn’t given her the Secretary’s contact information.
Not only that, but he hadn’t even told her what the Secretary looked like.
Jiang Shu let out a sigh.
The Jiang Family villa was somewhat far from the airport. Leaning against the back of her seat, Jiang Shu played with her phone until the driver called out to her, “Miss Jiang, we’ve arrived.”
At this time, the airport was bustling with people. Jiang Shu opened the door and got out, glancing around as she wondered where the Secretary was, when she heard a warm voice say, “Jiang Shu.”
Jiang Shu turned her head in the direction of the voice.
Pei Wang was standing not far away, dressed in his usual shirt and suit, but without a tie, and two buttons of his shirt were undone, revealing part of his collarbone.
Jiang Shu stepped forward, saying, “Long time no see.”
She looked up at Pei Wang and smiled, enunciating, “Secretary Pei.”
