The Fake Daughter Want to Be Villainess - Chapter 29
Pei Wang was obviously taken aback.
He slightly lowered his head, repeating hesitantly, “Secretary Pei?”
Pei Wang quickly guessed the situation, his eyelashes gently drooping: “Did my dad say something to you?”
Jiang Shu rested her hands on the suitcase handle, lifted her head slightly, and with wide eyes, spoke with a hint of mild complaint in her voice: “Dad told me that there would be a Secretary picking me up at the airport.”
It was a Secretary, a Secretary with the surname Pei.
Father Jiang went to great lengths to ensure that she and Pei Wang would have more interactions.
With a displeased glance at Pei Wang, Jiang Shu was about to voice another complaint when she suddenly remembered something.
She straightened her body and tugged at Pei Wang’s sleeve: “Dad told me that we have property in Qing City.”
Jiang Shu blinked her eyes, stretching her tone: “It wouldn’t happen to be yours, would it?”
Pei Wang glanced at his watch, then reached out to grab Jiang Shu’s luggage, turning to walk into the airport: “So what if it is?”
He naturally asked, “Doesn’t my property count as our family’s?”
Jiang Shu was momentarily stunned, tugging at a corner of Pei Wang’s clothing as she chased after him: “Then it definitely counts.”
She felt somewhat disheartened: “You’re right.”
Pei Wang led Jiang Shu to collect their tickets, then passed through security with their luggage and boarded the plane via the VIP channel.
The plane quickly took off, and it was just the right time for dinner, when a flight attendant came over to ask what they would like for dinner.
She handed them a menu and leaned over to inquire, “What do you two need?”
Jiang Shu had already had dinner, so she shook her head at the flight attendant and then tilted her head to ask, “Could I get a cup of hot milk?”
The flight attendant acknowledged her request and then carefully inquired about Pei Wang’s needs before turning to head back to the meal preparation area.
She soon returned with their requested items and laid them on the tray table.
Jiang Shu picked up the milk, took a sip as she glanced sideways to speak to Pei Wang, only to catch sight of the flight attendant still standing next to them.
She was a bit puzzled and blinked: “Is something wrong?”
The flight attendant pulled out a note and lowered her voice: “Hello, I’m a fan of yours. Could you please give me an autograph?”
Both Pei Wang and Jiang Shu were taken aback.
The show had only been airing for two days, and neither of them had expected to randomly encounter a fan.
“Sure.” Jiang Shu was the first to react; she reached out, took the note and pen, signed her name on it, and handed it to Pei Wang.
She looked up at the flight attendant and casually asked, “What kind of fan are you?”
The flight attendant instinctively put on a professional smile: “I’m a Wangshu Fan.”
Pei Wang had also finished signing, capped the pen, and somewhat puzzled, repeated, “Wangshu Fan? What is that—”
Jiang Shu quickly grabbed Pei Wang’s wrist: “Don’t ask.”
Pei Wang turned his head to look at her, his lashes lowering slightly as his gaze briefly rested on Jiang Shu’s fingers, then he lifted his lashes in a fluttering motion and looked at her.
He softly said, “Hmm?”
Jiang Shu realized her overreaction and released her grip, leaning on the tray table in front of her, tugging at Pei Wang’s sleeve and whispering, “Don’t ask so much, let’s keep a distance from the fans’ lives.”
Like a hamster flattened into a pancake.
Pei Wang chuckled, nodding obediently: “Okay.”
He turned to pass the note and pen back to the flight attendant, politely smiling: “Thank you for your support.”
The flight attendant hugged the note to her chest, excitedly clutching the pen: “No, no, no, the honor is mine, I’m just happy to support you both.”
She composed herself before taking a step back: “If you need anything, feel free to call for me.”
Once the flight attendant left, Pei Wang shot a glance at Jiang Shu, but before he could speak, she bristled, quickly raising her hand to make a stop gesture: “No questions!”
“I’m not going to ask.” Pei Wang’s tone remained gentle and calm.
He leaned forward slightly, catching the glass that Jiang Shu had pushed to the edge of the tray table, which was about to topple over.
Pei Wang placed the cup on the edge of his tray table and then lowered his head to start eating his dinner.
When he finished, the plane was just beginning its descent. He had the flight attendant clear away the dishes, and once the plane had stabilized, he took Jiang Shu out of the airport.
Qing City Airport was situated quite far out, and by the time they reached their accommodation, it was nearly midnight.Jiang Shu finished her shower and went to bed to rest. When she woke up, it was already bright outside.
After a quick wash, she went downstairs and saw Pei Wang sitting at the dining table, where a row of breakfast items was laid out.
“I bought this from a breakfast shop,” Pei Wang said, turning his head to look over with a hint of a smile in his voice. “Do you mind?”
Jiang Shu pulled out a chair and sat down, found a cup of soy milk, and picked a breakfast item that looked appealing. She lowered her head and took a bite—
Wait, isn’t this a perfect opportunity for mischief?
Jiang Shu put down the food and criticized with a determined tone, “This tastes terrible.”
She placed her hands on the table, leaned forward a bit, and commanded, “Make me something to eat.”
Pei Wang raised his hand to gently press against her forehead. “No way.”
The System chimed in, but Pei Wang habitually ignored its prompt and explained, “No one has lived here for a long time, so there are no ingredients prepared.”
He selected a portion from Jiang Shu’s leftovers, holding it in his hand, and tilted his head to look over. “Next time, I’ll cook for Shushu, okay?”
They were the first to arrive at the recording location.
Staff members came over to start collecting their prohibited items. By the time everything was gathered, the other guests also arrived one after another.
The staff began to collect items from the other guests. The Director took a megaphone and started a passionate speech. “In the last recording, you all must have been exhausted.”
“So our Program Team, learning from past mistakes, has decided to take it a bit easier for everyone.” He flashed a cryptic smile at the guests. “So, this episode’s theme is travel.”
“Qing City is a famous tourist destination with many attractions. To make it easier for everyone to explore, we’ve prepared a simple manual.”
The staff handed out flyers to each guest.
“You can explore freely,” the Director clapped his hands. “As long as you check in at three attractions by six in the afternoon, today’s task will be considered complete.”
He looked around at the guests. “Does anyone have any questions?”
The guests exchanged glances, and Ren Lishu spoke up first. “Are we having lunch here?”
This meeting point was a bit remote and almost not near any attractions.
Ren Lishu frowned. “We might not have enough time to visit the attractions.”
The Director looked at her in surprise. “What are you thinking? You’re on vacation; of course, you’ll have to figure out lunch on your own.”
When he said that, Lin Hui also frowned. “But all our belongings were collected, and we don’t have a single penny.”
Perhaps because they had taken advantage of the loopholes in the previous episode, the Program Team was much stricter this time regarding item collection.
“Oh, right.” The Director suddenly remembered something and pulled out several envelopes from his pocket. “You reminded me; this is everyone’s travel funds.”
He handed an envelope to each group and advised, “Please spend it wisely; having some balance left over will bring a surprise.”
Jiang Shu took the envelope, quickly opened it, and dug out two bills from inside.
One was a twenty, and the other was also a twenty.
