The Protagonist is Always Intimidating Me - Chapter 34
“Huh???” Bai Meng poked his head out from Mo Hankui’s embrace, looking at the people getting smaller in the distance, and asked in surprise, “Aren’t we going to wait for them?”
“No. Something’s not quite right with you.”
From the moment Bai Meng jumped and clung to him, Mo Hankui felt a hot, firm pressure against his waist and abdomen. Putting together what Bai Meng had mentioned earlier, Mo Hankui quickly realized Bai Meng had also been affected by the drug in the room.
Without hesitation, Mo Hankui carried Bai Meng straight to the inn they had stayed in last time. Along the way, Bai Meng’s eyes reddened slightly, his body rubbing persistently against him.
“Hehe, being held…feels so good.”
His pale face still bore a hint of delicateness. Bai Meng buried his head against Mo Hankui’s chest, fidgeting like a restless rodent, constantly nudging against him.
“Just like a child,” Mo Hankui frowned slightly, enduring Bai Meng’s movements with resignation, only making a faint comment as he quickened his pace. Soon, they arrived at the inn.
The innkeeper was at the counter, tallying his books. When he saw Mo Hankui, he quickly came over to greet him. “Hall Master…”
“Have someone bring up a bucket of hot water. I want the northernmost room…”
“I want the southern side,” Bai Meng mumbled softly.
Mo Hankui paused before correcting himself in a deep voice, “…Make that the southernmost room. Wait here. Mo Jiuge and the others are behind us. Arrange rooms for them and ensure no one interrupts me, for any reason.”
After leaving the innkeeper with a hurried yet composed figure, he elicited a few impressed clicks of the tongue from the innkeeper.
“A rare sight indeed,” The innkeeper shook his head as he returned to the counter and resumed his task.
“?”
Bai Meng looked confused, not understanding why Mo Hankui had suddenly carried him to a room and placed him on the bed.
“……”
Facing Bai Meng’s naive gaze, Mo Hankui felt somewhat embarrassed as well.
After all, he had no experience in this area. Naturally reserved and cold-blooded like a snake, Mo Hankui rarely had physical desires, which often led others to assume he was completely indifferent to such things.
“…Are you feeling any discomfort?”
Mo Hankui’s stern expression remained unchanged, but his words came out clumsily.
“Huh? I’m fine.”
Bai Meng’s eyes were misty, tinged with a faint flush at the corners.
“……”
Mo Hankui frowned and glanced at Bai Meng, whose fair face was already flushed red and glistening with moisture.
He looked especially delicious, tempting enough to eat.
“Oh? Why do I feel like you’re not looking so well?”
A sudden heat flared up within Mo Hankui, and his reptilian pupils narrowed. He licked his dry lips, his gaze fixated intently on the bulge between Bai Meng’s legs. “Need some help?”
“…No need, I can handle it myself. Hankui, could you step outside?” Bai Meng, usually shameless, now felt embarrassed under Mo Hankui’s intense gaze.
“It’s fine.”
The man’s cold voice echoed in Bai Meng’s ears. The next second, Bai Meng felt as if his lifeline was being firmly grasped.
Truly grasped at the pulse of life ♂.
“…Lord Hankui, isn’t this workplace harassment?” Though Mo Hankui’s method was rather unrefined, it was still one of the most sensitive areas for a man. Bai Meng found himself overwhelmed, eyes tearing up, his white-furred ears turning crimson.
“Harassment? Well, as the Hall Master, I naturally have to keep an eye on my closest captain. Such a small act of assistance shouldn’t be met with courtesy…”
The atmosphere between them grew heated and ambiguous. Bai Meng shot him a wet-eyed glare.
Too shameless.
Far too shameless.
Who would’ve thought that behind Mo Hankui’s composed demeanor, he harbored such audacious intentions in private?!
The strange flame in Bai Meng’s lower body was nearly burning him up. Mo Hankui’s clumsy technique prevented him from finishing, and worse yet, Mo Hankui stubbornly wouldn’t let him handle it himself…
Feeling stifled and uncomfortable, Bai Meng’s large dark eyes glistened. Adopting a composed front, he muttered, “But Jiuge was once your captain, too…”
Mo Hankui: “……”
The fiery atmosphere froze instantly.
Then, right in front of Mo Hankui, Bai Meng transformed back into a fluffy white ball of fur, awkwardly extending a tiny paw to slowly stroke himself between the legs.
Mo Hankui: “……”
The mood had cooled to the point of freezing.
Mo Hankui, his face expressionless, watched the little white ball wriggle about, his gray eyes narrowing as he suddenly shifted into his snake form, licking Bai Meng from head to toe.
Bai Meng: “……”
He instantly wilted.
Heh.
Lord Hankui, that was quite a job well done.
After gathering themselves, they made their way downstairs, one following the other. The common room grew quiet as the others noted Bai Meng’s energetic movements, expressions becoming increasingly skeptical.
“…I wonder if the Hall Master may be… inadequate,” Mo Lei murmured to Mo Lengsui and a few others, as Mo Jiuge and some newcomers sat nearby, while Mo Chao and his companions shared another table.
Mo Yu: “……”
“……” Bai Meng and Mo Hankui, seated nearby, were separated by only a table from Mo Lei and his group. With his keen hearing, Bai Meng caught every word.
“In the past, the Hall Master was so reserved, even using Feng Qingxuan as a cover. Now, with such an eager male concubine, maybe that’s why Bai Meng was promoted to captain?” Mo Lei ventured, straying ever further from the truth.
Mo Yu: “……”
Bai Meng glanced sympathetically at Mo Hankui across from him.
Noticing Bai Meng’s look, Mo Hankui: “???”
“That makes sense,” Mo Chao nodded, his brow furrowing thoughtfully. “Our Hall Master doesn’t seem like the type to lose his composure like Feng Qingxuan did. Thinking about it now, there may indeed be some hidden story here.”
Bai Meng: “……”
“Hey, enough! This is getting absurd…” Mo Yu groaned. “Even if Bai Meng’s promotion was unconventional, the Hall Master and elders accepted him, proving his worth.”
“Bah!” the other two retorted in unison.
Mo Yu: “……”
“I think you just like him!” Mo Lei scoffed, giving him a disdainful look.
“……” Mo Yu’s bright face flushed, “Hey, stop making things up!”
“To be fair, Bai Meng does have skill,” Mo Lengsui recalled a past tournament. His sharp features remained still, though a faint smile touched his eyes. “For someone his size, his strength is rather unexpected.”
Bai Meng: “……”
Almost speechless.jpg
“Now that you mention it, I remember too. Nice memory, Lengsui.”
Mo Lei and Mo Chao nodded in agreement.
“……” Mo Yu stood up, moved over to Mo Jiuge’s table, and murmured to him, “Vice-Captain Jiuge, let’s switch seats.”
Friends like these, I can do without.
“…What’s going on?” Mo Hankui frowned, staring at the person across from him, who wore a mysterious smile.
“Well, you see—ahahahaha…”
Mo Hankui: “……”
Everyone: “……”
“It’s actually just—hahaha… Well…”
“……”
“…I’ll go gather information,” Mo Hankui promptly stood and headed outside.
“Ahahahaha—Wait! I’m coming too!”
