Sophia was startled. Did Orion just say “past life”? Sophia sat up on the bed and looked intently at the petite, black-haired escort. Orion was Sophia’s bodyguard and appeared in the game, but…
“…Do you also have memories of your previous life?”
“Yeah.”
Seeing Orion nod, Sophia tightly grasped his hand.
“For real! Then, could you help me a little? I’m in trouble as the villainess! Oh, my name is Shinohara Kanon! It’s from my past life! You’ve played the game too, right?”
Then Orion’s eyes widened.
“…Shinohara Kanon?”
Orion covered his mouth with one hand and looked up at the ceiling, “Wow.”
“Are you really Kanon? I can’t believe it. Can such a coincidence exist? It’s true that we were together when we died but…”
“…What?”
“No, I mean, we were caught up in the road collapsing due to land subsidence…”
“Ah!”
Sophia clapped her hand. That was the cause of death in her previous life that she couldn’t remember! As she was told, the road suddenly caved in several meters deep on the way to school, and Kanon, who was walking on top of it, fell head over heels and became the victim of a tragic accident!
Hm? Then…
“Wait a minute. If we were together then…”
Sophia pointed at Orion with a trembling finger.
“Could it be that you are Yukina!? You were reincarnated as a man!?”
“No, I’m not a man.”
“…Huh?”
Orion sat down on the edge of the bed and untied his long black hair.
“Well, you see, I found out that I was reincarnated as Orion. But for some reason, I was a woman instead of a man. But hasn’t my family been protecting the royal family for generations? Apparently, my father heard that my mother was too weak to bear many children, so he decided to raise me as a man.”
It seemed that Orion had regained memories of her previous life when she was 10 years old, but she had decided to continue pretending to be a man and enjoying herself as a bystander as one of the mobs in the game. Orion was Sophia’s bodyguard, but since Orion was neither punished nor killed in “The Snows of Glastona”, she decided to consider herself lucky to be able to watch the game up close.
“…Okay, Orion.”
“You’re a disaster, Sophia.”
Sophia was irritated by Orion’s acting like it was somebody else’s problem.
“Don’t dismiss it as a disaster! If this continues, I’ll be heading down the path of destruction!”
“Ah, yeah. My condolences.”
“Yukina!”
Sophia grabbed Orion’s collar and tightened it.
“Okay, okay, so just calm down.”
“How am I supposed to stay calm!”
“Now, now, there, there.”
“Do you take me for a fool?”
Orion managed to tear Sophia’s hand off and said, “Well, listen to me.”
“You’re actually rather lucky that you’ve regained your memories now. The game begins when you and Keira are eighteen years old. There’s still four years left! If you do something before the game begins, you might not start out as a villainess. Besides, even though this world is a game, it’s not completely the same. See? Look, I’m actually a woman. There’s a way out!”
“…Do you really think so?”
“I do, I do!”
“So you’re going to cooperate?”
“I’ll at least listen to what you have to say.”
“…”
“I’m just kidding! I’ll cooperate with you!”
Sophia was skeptical, but she had no intention of waiting for herself to be damned. As Orion says, if something can be done before the game begins four years later, the condemnation event may be avoided.
“So, what exactly are you going to do?”
Sophia sat up straight on the bed, and brought her face closer to Orion’s.
Even if they said they would do something about it within four years, if Sophia continued to live like this in the castle until four years from now, wouldn’t she be firmly positioned as a villainess who was hostile to the heroine, Keira?
When she felt uneasy, Orion grinned.
“Have you forgotten? Sophia is getting engaged a year from now.”
“I haven’t forgotten. With Randall, right?”
Duke Randall Voltio. A year later, he would become Sophia’s fiancé, and was one of the heroine’s targets.
Randall still suspected that Sophia was not the king’s descendant. The king told Randall that if he was so concerned about it, he should just take Sophia as his wife and keep an eye on her by her side for the rest of her life, so he made Sophia engaged to him.
The king felt sorry for Sophia, and although he married her to Randall under the pretext of keeping an eye on her, he actually chose him so that Sophia wouldn’t be inconvenienced. However, since both Sophia and Randall literally took this engagement as “to keep an eye on Sophia”, their relationship was at its worst. Randall continued to be cold towards Sophia and became one of the reasons why his girlfriend, Sophia, turned sour.
(Randall?)
Sophia was disappointed. Randall was one of the characters that Sophia particularly liked among the characters to be conquered in “The Snows of Glastona.” At first glance, he seemed very cruel, but when he fell in love with the main character, he became doting on her. However, Sophia got engaged to him a year later, and she was treated with a cold attitude from him every day. How could she not mourn this?
“What do you mean? Should I prevent the engagement to Randall?”
Then, Orion waved an index finger to the side, saying “tsk tsk tsk.”
“That’s not it! I’m telling you to marry Randall within four years and leave this castle immediately!”
“What?”
“If you had gotten married instead of engaged, the engagement annulment event wouldn’t have happened!”
(I see. Orion has a point, but will it be that easy?)
As Sophia crossed her arms and groaned, “Hmm,” Orion let out the final word.
“You liked Randall. If you marry him, he’s yours.”
Randall was hers.
The smile he showed during the game came back to Sophia’s mind.
“Okay…!”
Sophia stood up on the bed and clenched her fists.
