When I Was Reincarnated, It Was a Year After I Died. The Girls Who Always Made Fun of Me Turned Into Yandere When They Found Out I Was Alive - Chapter 3
After reuniting with Iwasaka, we went to a nearby café to sort things out.
“Are you calm now?”
“…Just a little.”
Iwasaka, sitting across from me, replied with red, swollen eyes, looking sulky.
“Sigh, it was tough getting in. Everyone stared at us because you were crying when we walked in.”
“…I’m sorry.”
Iwasaka looked genuinely sorry and hung her head.
It feels off seeing her like this. I’m not used to her without her usual annoying demeanor. I couldn’t even tell if she was really crying—
“Don’t you dare disappear again. If you do, I won’t forgive you.”
Her earlier words echoed in my mind, making me doubt less. Everything she said and the way she looked seemed genuine.
“Were you looking for me too?”
“Of course!”
“Whoa… Hey, keep your voice down.”
“Oh, sorry.”
Iwasaka jumped up and shouted, drawing the attention of everyone in the café, including a glaring server.
“Asawa-senpai and Hioka-senpai were looking for you too. We all gave up after about six months, though.”
“You three were looking for me…?”
The three girls who always insulted me searched for me for six months. For them, a year had passed, and I must have disappeared, changing something in them. I need to reconsider how I see them.
“Then I should thank all of them. Though, I doubt they’ll forgive me just by saying thanks.”
“Uh… yeah, probably.”
Iwasaka seemed hesitant. Did I say something weird? I just meant I should meet and talk to them…
“Actually… Hioka-senpai, after six months, stopped living alone and transferred to a school near her parents’ place.”
“What?”
“And Asawa-senpai… around the same time, she stopped coming to school and started hanging out all the time, according to rumors.”
“What?”
“I think they both couldn’t cope with reality…”
“…”
Hioka transferred, and Saki started hanging out instead of going to school? What happened in the year I was gone?
“Senpai, please. Could you meet them and ask them to be like they were before?”
Iwasaka pleaded earnestly, her face serious and determined.
“Me?”
“Yes. Only you can do this. I know I’m being selfish, but I want us all to talk together again.”
Iwasaka bowed her head, asking seriously without her usual playful tone.
“…Honestly, I don’t have many good memories with you three.”
Iwasaka’s eyes widened for a moment, then she looked down, dejected, and murmured in a lower voice.
“You’re right. I’m sorry for being selfish—”
“But I still want you three around. Despite everything, you were always by my side, and seeing you together made me happy. Childhood friends, classmates who always talked to me, and you who always bugged me. It makes me happy to see my friends having fun together.”
“Hehe, what’s that?”
Iwasaka laughed, not her usual mocking laugh but a pure, childlike giggle.
“So, senpai, let’s keep doing our best from now on.”
“Yeah, and I need to get back to school too.”
“Huh?”
“Huh?”
Iwasaka looked puzzled. All I said was I needed to go back to school… Is there a problem?
“Senpai, do you remember you’ve been gone for a year?”
“Uh, yeah, of course. I remember.”
It felt like just a day since I died, but after hearing about Hioka and Saki, I remembered it had been a year. Wait, what does a year mean?
I kept thinking about what Iwasaka said, but she hesitantly explained.
“Well… since you’ve been gone for a year, you’ll probably have to repeat a grade.”
Huh? A… repeat?
“Yeah, so let’s do our best together… as classmates.”
Iwasaka smiled sympathetically.
I really didn’t want her sympathy.
Unable to handle the reality of repeating a grade, I looked up to the sky.

I’m kinda suprised he’s so kind? I’d have to put it. For him this is tomorrow after the camp so why is he so nice to his abusers all of a sudden?
Heck if it was me I’d assume they searched for me not out of concern for me but the guilt they had from being responsible for an apparant unlifing/disappearence. It’s also really weird his phone activated and collected the messages.
I’m also not sure what way their gonna go with said story on how MC explains his missing time. If he goes the truthful route he might be loony binned but how can he lie convincingly? He looks like the day of the camp with clothes in great condition so he can’t even claim to have been in the mountains or whatever the whole time.
